Main Street

Mr Wainwright, my great great great grandad, outside his cottage, at 31 Main Street. It has since been demolished and is now known as Herrod Close.
The Wainwrights moved to the village in the early nineteen twenties, Mr Wainwright worked at Waltons for a while, although he was listed as a mechanical engineer, in the 1901 census. He later built a Fish and Chip Shop at the back of the cottage. The buisinees grew and moved into a refurbished Black Smith's Shop, now known as Jillian's Hairdressers.

Mr Wainwright died March 1938 and Mrs Wainwright in 1953.
